You’re allowed

You’re allowed to tell your story.

You’re allowed to talk about how they hurt you.

You’re allowed to express your pain and your fears.

You’re allowed to not be okay.

In a world where most people try to act like they have everything together I think it’s important to know that it’s okay if you don’t. It’s okay if you’re still figuring out where you wanna be.

There’s not a certain time frame of how long it should take to heal from trauma…. I don’t think you can ever fully “get over it.” You have to embrace the pain. You have to embrace the emotions. You have to let yourself feel all of the ugly emotions of it all.

Healing through trauma isn’t pretty. Some days are absolute hell. Some days are better than others. Some days you realize why you’re fighting so damn hard to stay strong and to keep going.

I think some people are scared to talk about trauma. Scared to offend someone or scared to open up too much. I get it, I was that way. Sometimes I still am, but I’m working on that. I’m sharing my story in hopes to help others.

Sharing your story can help someone even if you don’t know it.

Take some time for yourself this week, with the holidays it can be even more stressful.

Take some time to write/journal. Take a bath. Take a walk. Binge some Netflix. Do something for you.

I know holidays can be hard, but don’t be afraid to say no to going to family events. Don’t be afraid to speak up at family events when something is said that isn’t right.

You got this, babes.
